Schools Easter Competition Winner Announced

Schools Easter Competition

Our Easter Competition is running until 31st March.  If you are a member of UNISON and work in a school and would like to enter our Easter competition, simply email your details to us by 4pm on Tuesday 31st March to be in with a chance of winning our Easter Hamper worth £40!

Annual General Meeting - 26th February 2015

This year’s Annual General Meeting will be on Thursday 26th February.  The meeting is open to all members of The Staffordshire Branch of UNISON, to be held at The Staffordshire Branch Office, 56 Eastgate Street, Stafford, ST16 2LY, starting at 5:30pm.  There will be a prize draw sponsored by Frizzells and a free buffet available prior to the meeting at 5pm.

Stars in our Schools

On Friday 28th November 2014 we celebrated School Support Staff in our ‘Stars in our Schools Awards 2014’, and we can now reveal our 2 very worthy winners who were nominated by their Head Teachers for going above and beyond for their School, each winning £150!

The Branch Office is Moving.....

On Wednesday the 22nd October the Staffordshire Branch Office is moving, as a consequence we have planned downtime of our IT and Phone Systems throughout that day and the office will be closed during this time

INDUSTRIAL STRIKE ACTION 14TH OCTOBER **SUSPENDED**

The Branch have just been notified by our regional office that an improved offer has been made and this will be put to members shortly, at this point we have no detail of this offer but can confirm that the industrial action planned for 14th October has been SUSPENDED.  Please follow our website and UNISON’s national websites for further updates.

Local Government Workers to Strike on 14 October 2014 - UPDATED

As you know, the three unions – UNISON, GMB and Unite - submitted an initial claim for 2014-2015 for a minimum increase of £1 an hour on all scale points to achieve the Living Wage for the lowest paid and to begin to restore the 18% lost earnings for members above the bottom pay point. At the moment, 450,000 NJC workers earn £6.45 pence an hour - £1.20 an hour less than the Living Wage.
